Graduate Student Appreciation Week was started in 1993 by the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students as a way to support and appreciate graduate and professional students. The week seeks to emphasize the contributions, impact, and value of graduate and professional students on campuses throughout the United States.

The 2024 Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) at John Carroll University will be held from April 2-8, 2024. This week celebrates the contributions of JCU Graduate Students for the university and the graduate student community. Below is a schedule of events that will be hosted by the Graduate School.

Grab 'n Go Goodies From the Grad School

Enjoy hot and cold treats of your choice all afternoon before class, after class, or just for a well-deserved break. We'll have Hershey's ice cream treats and a hot chocolate bar. Stop into the Graduate School Office, St. Ignatius Hall Room 126 from 2 - 6PM.

Let us show you some love! Join the Graduate School to wrap up Graduate Student Appreciation Week and bask in the solar eclipse aftermath – an event as rare and remarkable as your contributions to the graduate school community.

Come to the Graduate Student Lounge in the Grasselli Library & Breen Learning Center, Room 323, from 6 - 8 PM for a night of community and giveaways to show our appreciation for all that you contribute to JCU

  • Try your luck: Spin the wheel of prizes from the JCU Bookstore and other area locations
  • Enjoy sweet treats
  • Visit with other graduate students

You can also attend one of JCU's DISCOVER events, the Library Art Show from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
