John Carroll University has ranked in the top 30 nationwide on the Military Times’ “Best for Vets: Colleges 2015” four-year school list. John Carroll is the #1 Ohio school, the #5 private school, and #29 overall on the list of 100 colleges and universities. Several hundred schools participated in this year’s Military Times’ survey, which was based on issues most important to student veterans. The survey required schools to describe many aspects of veteran culture on campus and document an array of services, special rules, accommodations, and financial incentives offered to military and veteran students. To determine which schools made the list and where they should be ranked, Military Times compared the schools’ survey responses and also reviewed data compiled by the U.S. Education Department, including academic success measures. Three categories of schools were surveyed: four-year schools, two-year schools, and online and nontraditional schools.
