Ronald E. Dziedzicki, RN, BSN, MBA. MSS, Chief Operating Officer for University Hospitals (UH) Case Medical Center, and a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, was been promoted to the rank of Major General effective 23 May 2013. He assumed the position of Commanding General for the 3rd Medical Command Deployment Support, Fort Gillem, Ga. “My nomination and confirmation to the rank of Major General demonstrates the achievement of a significant professional military career goal and my continued commitment as a Citizen Soldier to the national security needs of our great nation” said Dziedzicki. “This promotion reflects the values that I continue to live each and every day; loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. These values are and continue to be a vital element of my success.” Dziedzicki has 28 years of service to the U.S. Army Reserves and was most recently serving as the Deputy Commanding General 3rd Medical Command Deployment Support, Fort Gillem, GA. He comes from a military background. His father was a retired Colonel U.S. Army who served overseas in WWII and in Korea, 44th Combat Engineers and his mother was an Army Nurse Corps Officer, who served in WWII with the 127th General Hospital. Dziedzicki has been with UH Case Medical Center since 2001. “We are truly proud of Ron’s achievements and his dedication to the needs of our Nation. UH Case Medical Center has a long legacy of service to the Nation dating back to the Lakeside Units deployments overseas during World War I and II,” said Fred C. Rothstein, M.D., President of UH Case Medical Center. “We are grateful to our employee veterans and currently serving. Dziedzicki holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ursuline College (Class of 1981), a Master of Business Administration from John Carroll University (Class of 1992) and a Masters in Strategic Studies from The US Army War College (Class of 2010). His formal promotion ceremony will occur in the UH Case Medical Center Atrium on 26 July at 10:00 am. Major General Luis Visot, Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Reserve Command will preside over the ceremony. A native Clevelander, he currently lives in Brunswick, Ohio with his wife, Mary Ann. He has three sons, Matthew, Christopher and David. Two daughter in laws, Jessica and Brittany and four grandchildren, Brendan, Abigail, Elijah and Anna.
