Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Ursuline College

Ursuline College and John Carroll University have an agreement in which at least two seats per year in the Breen College of Nursing at Ursuline College’s Accelerated B.S.N. Program are designated for John Carroll University graduates. Students may apply to Ursuline College’s Admissions Office (through the Coordinator of B.S.N. Enrollment) as early as the beginning of their junior year at JCU.

Eligibility for the Accelerated B.S.N.

Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 in mathematics and science courses and must be in good standing at JCU. Applicants for the two allotted seats will be considered in the order in which applications are received. When the designated seats are filled, other applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Admission is not guaranteed and acceptance into the program is at the sole discretion of Ursuline College. Prior to beginning nursing courses, applicants must complete the following courses and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0:

  • BL 155-158: Principles of Biology & Labs
  • BL 213: Genetics
  • BL 230-231: Human Anatomy & Physiology & Lab
  • BL 310/301L: Microbiology & Lab
  • CH 141-144: General Chemistry & Labs
  • CH 221, 223: Organic Chemistry & Lab
  • DATA 122: Elementary Statistics (or MT 135: Calculus & Analytic Geometry I and DATA 228: Statistics for Biological Sciences)
  • EPA 229: Human Nutrition
  • PL 316: Bioethics
  • PS 100 Introduction to Psychology: Perspectives in Social Justice or PS 101: Introduction to Psychology
  • PS 268: Life Span Development
  • SC 101: Foundations in Sociology
