The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting campus walking tours during weekday office hours.
  • Providing tours during all weekend visit programs (i.e. Blue Streak Preview Day, Accepted Student Celebration, etc.) and at least one Saturday per semester.
  • Escorting prospective students and their families as part of their personalized visit itineraries to various locations on campus.
  • Meeting and mingling with visitors as they spend time in the lobby/reception area.
  • Calling those registered for a visit in advance to confirm their itinerary, provide directions, offer additional assistance, etc.
  • Managing and monitoring correspondence with visitors through follow-up notes, emails, and postcards.
  • Learning and mastering facts and statistics regarding the university‚Äôs history, buildings and facilities, mission and identity, admission and financial aid processes, student population and make-up, core curriculum and academic life, campus and student life, etc.
  • Performing the various tasks associated with the front desk, which include:
    • Answering/directing/forwarding phone calls and messages.
    • Scheduling visits.
    • Checking in visitors as they arrive.
    • Distributing meal tickets as necessary.
    • Assembling visitor welcome folders and ensuring that ample supply is available.
  • Assisting members of the recruitment staff and/or visit team, including enrollment managers and admission counselors, with any special projects, travel preparations, or events as needed.
  • Delivering materials, running errands, performing data entry, filing, or helping with various office mailings.
  • Participating in regional receptions when possible.
