In addition to celebrating the National Distinctions bestowed upon John Carroll University for our commitment to a faith that does justice, the Center for Service and Social Action honors the importance of recognizing individuals who have made a difference through service.
The following awards are given annually:
- George B. Sweeney Endowed Campion Award
- Staff Service Award
- Curtis W. Miles Faculty Award for Community Service
The Celebration of Service Award Ceremony honors these service award winners each year during Ignatian Heritage Week.
In Spring 2014 and Spring 2015 respectively, CSSA awarded the first ever group service awards to deserving major groups on campus:
As an Ohio Campus Compact Member Institution, we also recognize the recipients of Ohio Campus Compact Awards that honor undergraduate students and members of the faculty and staff for outstanding work in community service, service-learning, and/or civic engagement.
The Center for Service and Social Action also recognizes its student staff (Federal Work Study students and student interns) multiple times each year:
