Mark joined JCU in 2004 as an Associate Adjunct Professor and as Director/General Manager of WJCU, capping a 29-year professional career in commercial radio broadcasting, specializing in technology management.
Mark was an inductee into the local Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame in 1998, has been active in professional organizations, and has authored numerous articles in broadcast trade publications. He has served the NFL as a game day wireless technology coordinator and as a Co-Chairman of Northeast Ohio’s Emergency Alert System operational committee, and has also taught a variety of communication courses at Cleveland State University.
During his time directing WJCU, Mark personally redesigned and renovated all of the radio station’s facilities and has overseen its conversion to a fully integrated digital venue with a current focus on providing enhanced access to WJCU content to mobile device users everywhere via free Apple and Android apps.
In addition to his management & oversight of WJCU’s operations, he has served as technical producer and editor of several radio talk shows, and continues to do voicework and production heard regularly on the station.
Mark is currently teaching Electronic Media and Audio Production classes in the Tim Russert Department of Communication & Theatre Arts where he also serves as an academic advisor to freshman and department majors.
