Digital Media Concentration

The Digital Media Concentration allows students to reach their creative potential as they develop the skills necessary to engage their audience.  Students will learn how to use emerging technologies as they tell and integrate news stories.  Students will gain the knowledge and ability to apply communication  theories to the contexts of journalism, video, and audio production. In addition, students will learn to balance critical thinking, and communication skills with the technical and creative skills needed for today and the future.

The skills developed through the designated courses are in demand in areas such as entertainment arts, film and broadcasting industries, advertising and public relations, publishing, web development, media production, journalism, advocacy, communications.  Students completing the Digital Media Concentration may choose to work as a Media Planner; Multimedia Specialist; Broadcasting/Film/Video Producer; Social Media Manager; Advertising account executive; Event Manager; Writer; Editor and more.
