John Carroll University’s Debate Team won the Indiana University Hoosier Invitational Tournament, which took place January 19-21, 2013.

The team of Jeremy Himmelright and Chris Mitschow finished 6-1 in the preliminaries, awarding them the second seed position. They went on to defeat Johnson County Community College in the semifinals and Indiana University in the finals, both on unanimous (3-0) decisions.

The team of Drew Dockery and Brigette Mendes finished 7-0 in the preliminaries, earning them the top seed. They lost to Indiana in the semifinals on a 2-1 decision.

Individually, the team performed excellently, finishing:
1st- Chris Mitschow
2nd- Drew Dockery
3rd- Jeremy Himmelright
4th- Brigette Mendes

This is the second tournament Himmelright and Mitschow have won this year, and the third time they have reached the final round.
