Pre-Health Professions Program

A healthcare professional trained in a liberal arts environment has an advantage over others with just technical training: the ability to think critically and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Our curriculum is designed to educate you as a whole person – in mind, body, and spirit. And at JCU, you’ll be learning in the heart of the nation’s top healthcare region, with access to internships, research, and alumni connections needed to guide your career. The professional healthcare preparation minor and certificate program are designed to complement various majors and build career options in healthcare, communication, ethics, management, and compassionate care.

Programs of Study

The Pre-Health Professions program provides students with opportunities to fulfill the goal of becoming a healthcare professional, including advice on course selection and career paths in healthcare. Our courses will prepare you for careers in medicine, dentistry, podiatry, nursing, pharmacy, and other healthcare professions. Our program includes a full-time director and a physician-in-residence who will advise you throughout your time at JCU.
