James Flock ’99 received the Distinguished Alumnus Award on April 12 at the annual physics department banquet. James has worked in the field of medical imaging since graduating from John Carroll. He is currently a product quality assurance engineer at ViewRay where he is working on the world’s first and only MRI-guided radiation therapy system (http://www.digitaljournal.com/pr/1722806). James is involved in the regulatory aspect of a product’s clearance by the FDA, and he is also heavily involved in qualification of the MRI subsystem. In this role, he directly interfaces with the head physicist from University of Wisconsin Radiation Oncology department while working on site.
