Where is my transition letter?
Once a student has submitted his/her enrollment deposit and enrollment reservation form, a transition letter will be mailed to the student’s permanent address. This mailing introduces our transition website and contains your personal information needed to log in to our systems to register online for an orientation session.
These mailings will begin in mid-to-late April. For those who deposit after that time, please allow one week after you have paid your deposit to receive your transition mailing. If you have not received it after that time, please contact the Office of Admission at 216.397.4645.
What is my email address and password? My email password does not work.
The transition mailing includes your personalized first-year checklist where you will find your JCU email address and initial password (unless you have logged into your JCU G-mail account and changed your password). Note: the initial JCU G-mail password is typically set to the student’s Banner ID.
If you have received your transition mailing but for some reason did not receive your personalized first-year checklist, please contact the Office of Admission at 216.397.4645. *Note: Changing your Banner PIN does not change your email password.
What are my Banner User ID and PIN, and/or my Canvas User ID and password, and where do I find them?
Your Banner ID and PIN will allow you to enter the Secure Area of Banner Web where you will register for an orientation session and can access your own financial information. Once you have registered for classes, you will be able to view your class schedule and eventually see your grades and other academic information. Your Canvas username and password will allow you to take your required Foreign Language Placement Exam when you are on campus for your Orientation session.

It also includes your Canvas username and password (Note: the initial Canvas password is typically set to the student’s Banner ID).
My Banner User ID does not work.
The Banner ID should appear like this: B00012345 (using zeros not the letter O). The Banner PIN is case sensitive and has at least eight characters (letters and numbers). Make sure that you can go to the “Enter Secure Area” page from www.jcu.edu/bannerweb in order to enter your Banner ID. If you are having difficulty logging on try going to a different computer (home, library, etc.) as some employers block certain websites. If you cannot do this please contact the Computer Help Desk at 216.397.3005. If you can get this far but your Banner ID and/or PIN does not seem to be working, call the Enrollment Division at 888.335.6800.
How do I register for orientation?
The transition website contains detailed instructions on how to register online for an orientation session. Registration can be completed at http://www.jcu.edu/bannerweb. Your Banner ID and PIN will be needed to register and were included in your transition mailing.
Can I just register for orientation over the phone?
