Any student who studied Spanish, French, German, Latin, or Italian in high school will need to take an online foreign language placement exam in that language before coming to campus for the orientation. (If you took more than one of these five languages, you should take the placement test in both languages.)
Please refer to your First-Year Checklist for instructions on how to complete the exam and for a schedule of placement test deadlines.
The placement test will help the academic advisor determine which language class is appropriate for each student, and should be taken seriously to ensure proper placement. Please note that without the results of this test students will not be able to register for their required foreign language courses.
