John Carroll University will use a new online tool, Merit, to publish stories about student accomplishments, beginning in Summer 2015. These achievements will appear on http://jcu.meritpages.com and are designed to showcase student success, such as making the dean’s list, participating in a club activity, landing an internship, winning a special athletics honor, or studying abroad.
Merit garners positive attention for students by compiling a list of achievements that is accessible to a student’s hometown media outlets and future employers. Students can also choose to share the link with family and friends!
First, a student will receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org when a special University academic honor is earned. It’s important not to delete it! Instead, follow the instructions to create your own Merit page that will allow you to track your individual achievements (for example: internship participation or leadership in a campus organization), in addition to those “verified” by the University, such as the dean’s list.
If you have any questions, please contact Tonya Strong-Charles in Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) at email@example.com.
