John Carroll University today announced its Day of Giving, a 1,886-minute online fundraising event scheduled for April 29-30, 2019. The duration of the event was chosen to honor John Carroll’s founding in 1886 and to give the entire JCU community across every time zone the opportunity to participate.

JCU’s Day of Giving goal is to rally at least 500 donors between 4:33 p.m. on April 29th and 11:59 p.m. on April 30th. During that timeframe, donors can visit giveto.jcu.edu and click “Give Now” to support the campaign.

“Our founders gave their time, talent and resources to build our University,” said Michael D. Johnson, Ph.D., president of John Carroll University. “Through the generations, so many others in our community have acted as ‘founders’ at John Carroll by giving money to expand our campus, build academic programs and push our athletics programs to evolve. On this Day of Giving, we call on all of our constituents to give like a founder so we can give John Carroll a better tomorrow.”

Although JCU’s Day of Giving is focused on raising money for areas of greatest need via the Carroll Fund, donors can also contribute to specific areas including the College of Arts & Sciences, the Boler College of Business, or a program of their choice. The Day of Giving will also feature a Blue Streaks Athletics challenge that seeks 250 athletics donors.
