WHAT:           John Carroll University’s East Asian Studies Program is launching The Maroon Discussion Series. This series is a learning platform that will focus on the politics, people and businesses associated with contemporary East Asian culture.

                        Maroon Industries is a specialty chemical distributor based in Avon, Ohio.

WHO:             Koichi Tanaka is general manager of Tomatec America. He is a native of Japan and has lived and worked in the United States for many years.

Tomatec America is a leading manufacturer of a wide range of Complex Inorganic Color Pigments (CICPs).  CICPs have applications in thermoplastics and thermosetting resins, advanced engineering plastics, paints, ceramics, glass colors, porcelain enamels, cements, and functional materials.  The company has also developed a range of new, environmentally friendly pigments. Tomatec America is headquartered in Florence, KY,  and is part of Tokan Material Technology Co., Ltd. in Osaka, Japan.
