Engaging the World: Educating for Contemporary Global Citizenship
John Carroll University has been awarded a $236,000 grant from the McGregor Fund to support a three-year (2011-2014) curriculum development project, Engaging the World: Educating for Contemporary Global Citizenship.
The project’s goals are:
- To enhance teaching and learning about globalization processes throughout the University core curriculum via strengthened faculty expertise and new course development.
- To devise and promote an innovative undergraduate crisis mapping & humanitarian response learning program with a strong experiential dimension.
- To develop specific service-learning projects relevant to the crisis mapping & humanitarian response learning program.
We believe that this effort will transform JCU’s undergraduate curriculum in accordance with our new learning outcomes, which emphasize interdisicplinary and integrative education with a strong emphasis on global education and social justice.
