Spring 2007

Busy, busy, busy

it’s finally spring and a year since we all graduated! I keep hearing of new job news and moves to new cities so it seems like we all have been keeping busy! Most of the new class news I have been told includes new jobs and moves … including a large group in New York City. I heard from Melissa Witek who says that Tim Mahoney is doing sales for CARR Business Systems, Curtis Watkins is working at KPMG and Brad Neumeister just started his new job at Goldman Sachs doing execution and clearing sales. In addition, Meghan Betz is working for Condé Nast as a sales assistant in the bridal group. Melissa says, “It’s nice to have everyone here in such a big city. It’s made the transition of working and moving to a new city so much easier.”

Another grad that recently made a big move is Mike Scanlan who accepted a job with the LPGA as the media relations coordinator in Florida. Mike accepted this position after concluding this past football season doing media relations with the Buffalo Bills. Mike joins Sean Martin who is also working in Florida as a tax associate for Grant Thornton LLP.

Some Pittsburgh news includes Brigid O’Neil, who is finishing up her nursing master’s at Duquesne this spring and plans to move back to Cleveland this summer while Brian Walsh is still taking MBA classes at Duquesne.

In Cleveland, Jeffrey Nick MBA ’06 works for Oatey Company corporate director for EHS while Jocelyn Mazzoni is working for Exel Global Logistics as a project manager. William George continues to work as a personal trainer for JCU and the JCC and Megan Mahaffey works at Stern Advertising as an account executive.

Thanks to everyone I’ve talked to — unfortunately I’m afraid this is going to be my last column. The time is unfortunately not there to stay in touch with everyone and produce a column each time so if you’re interested in writing for the class of 2006, contact journal@jcu.edu.

Hope things are well, Meghan

We thank Meghan.

Summer 2006

It’s really hard to believe that only three months have passed since graduation! I’ve been hearing great news from everyone involving all different jobs and moves. As for myself, I recently made the big move to Chicago to start at Hostway Corporation. I work in the marketing and design department doing account management. I love every aspect of the job and being in such a great big city filled with fellow Carrollers has made the move even easier! Speaking of moving, Melissa Witek is gearing up to start at Xerox Corporation next month. Missy will be an account representative and go through intense training for her new position. Like Missy, Mike Scanlan has just recently made a move to Buffalo to work with the Bills. Mike, a former stand out Carroll News writer, is working in the media relations department there and loving every 300 days a year he has to work. Back home in Pittsburgh, Brigid O’Neil has started her classes at Duquesne University for nursing. Brig will complete her master’s next year. Diana Glaus is currently in the Teaching for America Program where she is teaching underprivileged children in Camden, NJ. This is a very prestigious program and it was an honor for Diana to be chosen. Randa Nemer has decided to stay in Cleveland and accept a position with Rockwell Automation doing marketing. Although she just started, she says the position is challenging and a great learning experience. Also staying in Cleveland is Caitlin McGrath who recently accepted a teaching position with Roxboro Middle School. Caitlin student taught at Roxboro and she loves the experience of teaching middle school kids in social studies and English. … Joining the Cleveland crowd, Jessica Kerns started her new job right after graduation. Jess works at Ohio Savings Bank in marketing and advertising. … Nonna Bagdasaryan also accepted a job with Target Corporation and is an executive team leader. … I hope things are going well with everyone and that you all keep me posted! This is such an exciting time and it’s so interesting to see what’s going on with everyone! Talk to you all soon. Meghan
