Leadership Scholars Program

Program Requirements

Freshman year

FALL

  • Participate in a Level I co-curricular leadership formation program
  • Write personal bio, leadership philosophy, and resume (pre-arrival)
  • Take common one-credit LP 101 and one-credit LP 102 courses with other Leadership Scholars

 

SPRING

  • Participate in a Level II co-curricular leadership formation program
  • Take common three-credit CO 125 course with other Leadership Scholars

 

Sophomore year

FALL

  • Update your personal bio, leadership philosophy, and resume (pre-arrival)
  • Serve as a SWAT Leader and Living the Mission Day student leader during Streak Week in August prior to the fall semester
  • Participate in a Level III co-curricular leadership formation program

 

SPRING

  • Participate in a Level IV co-curricular leadership formation program
  • Take an approved course and compose a reflection that shows how the course material contributed to your leadership competence

 

Junior year

FALL

  • Update your personal bio, leadership philosophy, and resume (pre-arrival)
  • Take the one-credit LP 340 job shadowing course
  • Engage in on- and off-campus leadership opportunities, internships, etc. (encouraged)

 

SPRING

  •  Compose a reflection on how one of your out-of class experiences has contributed to your development as a leader.
  • Engage in on- and off-campus leadership opportunities, internships, etc. (encouraged)

 

Senior Year

FALL

  • Update resume and leadership philosophy (pre-arrival)
  • Begin work on the senior capstone project, which involves interviewing leaders at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Engage in on- and off-campus leadership opportunities, internships, etc. (encouraged)

 

SPRING

  • Take the one-credit LP 440 Senior Project course
  • Complete Senior Leadership Project paper
  • Present Senior Leadership Project at the Celebration of Scholarship Poster Session
  • Complete final resume
