While students have many chances to practice their leadership skills on campus, there are certain positions which have a high level of visibility at John Carroll. Read below to learn more about these opportunities:
Each on-campus residence hall is served by a staff of Resident Assistants (RAs). These undergraduate student leaders work to create a strong sense of community among the residents on their floors and maintain a safe living and learning environment. Applications to be an RA are collected each spring.
Students in any class level may get involved in student government at John Carroll, which is called “Student Union” on the JCU campus. Elections are held late in the fall semester of each year and you can learn more information about this organization by clicking here.
Each summer, the student Orientation Leaders help to welcome incoming new students and their guests to campus in order for them to make a successful transition to college life. Applications are collected and individuals are selected for the staff each fall semester.
Tour Guides in the Office of Admission are some of JCU’s most articulate, courteous, and involved students. These ambassadors create a positive first impression of the university for prospective students and families. Applications are collected and interviews are conducted each spring.
Career Assistants (CAs) help their peers with unique career development needs through conducting individual appointments at the Career Center, conducting outreach to the student body on behalf of the Career Center, and participating in marketing and coordinating career events. The application process takes place in the spring semester of each year, with more information available at: www.jcu.edu/careercenter.
