Conchy Fajardo-Hopkins has taught Spanish at all levels for over 35 years. Before coming to John Carroll as a part time lecturer, she was department chair at Mayfield High School where she taught all levels of Spanish, including the Advanced Placement Course. She has spent years developing curriculum and has won several awards for teaching excellence at Mayfield High School and at Cuyahoga Community College where she is an adjunct professor. Señora Fajardo-Hopkins received her BA and MA from John Carroll and also studied in Spain. She is interested in Latin American culture and politics and has often spoken about Cuba, her country of origin. Her classes are highly interactive and she believes in doing many hands on activities in order to understand how language is structured.
