IMPORTANT: For all platforms/devices, your credentials are:

Username: Your full JCU email address (username@jcu.edu)

Password: Use the password that you use to log onto a school computer or Canvas.


Windows 7 or newer

  1. Click the Network icon in the lower right corner and click on eduroam then Click Connect.
  2. Enter your JCU email address (username@jcu.edu) and your canvas password and press OK.

If you are getting an “Unable to connect” error, please click here for instructions.


Macintosh (OS X)

  1. Click the wireless icon in the menu bar and select eduroam from the list of wireless networks
  2. Enter the following information in the Wi-Fi network credentials dialogue box:
  • Mode Automatic
  • Username Your Eduroam username
  • Password Your Eduroam password
  • Checked Remember this network

3. Click Join


iOS Devices (iPad, iPhone and iTouch etc.)

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select the Wi-Fi category
  3. Tap eduroam in the list of wireless networks
  4. Enter your Eduroam username and password in the dialogue box that opens and tap Join
    1. If Unable to join the network “eduroam” alert is shown, tap Dismiss
      1. Navigate to jcuwpa2 network and select the “i” (information) button
      2. Select Forget this Network
    2. Reconnect with the Eduroam network
  5. You may see a Certificate screen stating npas.campus.jcu.edu is not trusted. As long as you’re connected to Eduroam on–campus it should be okay to trust this certificate.

Android 4.x and newer

  1. Open Settings
  2. Open the list of wireless networks and tap on eduroam
  3. Enter the following information in the eduroam dialogue box:
  • EAP method PEAP
  • Phase 2 authentication None
  • CA certificate (Do not validate)
  • Identity Your Eduroam username
  • Password Your Eduroam password

4. Tap Connect
