For more than 125 years, John Carroll University has focused on graduating students of intellect and character in the Jesuit tradition of educational excellence. John Carroll is a Jesuit Catholic university, founded in the Jesuit educational tradition that is more than 450 years old. The Jesuit focus on holistic education – educating the whole person in mind, body, and spirit – has been imitated by many universities. We are a community of faith that welcomes the voices of all faiths and students that have a desire to share their talents and perspectives with others.
John Carroll is a top academic university that is in both a convenient city and a quiet suburban area. The University is located in the beautiful, safe, Cleveland suburb of University Heights, Ohio. Our 60-acre campus is right on city transit lines so it is easy to visit the modern downtown of a major U.S. city, yet our campus is filled with lawns, trees, and quiet and safe places that allow our students to focus on their studies. Admission is selective and focused on maintaining our excellent success rates for students graduating in four years.
