Peer Mentors and Program Assistant Application

Peer Educators:  (8 positions) Educators are the glue behind the academic workshops and social activities. As an educator, you get to welcome incoming first-year students of color and work closely with the CSDI Program Coordinator and Director.

Program Assistants:  (2 positions) Assistants help “behind the scenes” by working closely with the CSDI Administrative Assistant to help run the program smoothly.  Administrative mentors help with set ups, supplies, clean up, and running errands.  Candidates must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Fall 2014/Spring 2015 GPA of 2.5
  • Prepare a 10 minute presentation on any topic that would benefit incoming first-year students. Presentation topics can range from homesickness, managing stress, making friends, prioritizing, etc.  Topics must be approved by staff prior to interview. Check out this resource for ideas.
  • Must present topic and schedule interview between Monday to Friday, February 2-6, 2015
  • Attend LAUNCH from Saturday to Sunday, April 18-19, 2015
  • Commit from Sunday to Wednesday, August 23-26, 2015
  • Complete a summer reading.

 

Compensation

  • $150 stipend
  • Move-on campus on Sunday, August 23, 2015
  • All meals covered
