Peer Mentors and Program Assistant Application

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Peer Mentor:  (8 positions) Mentors are the glue behind the academic workshops and social activities. As a mentor, you get to welcome incoming first-year students of color and work closely with the CSDI Program Coordinator and Director.

Program Assistants:  (2 positions) Assistants help “behind the scenes” by working closely with the CSDI Administrative Assistant to help run the program smoothly.  Assistants help with set ups, supplies, clean up, and running errands.  Candidates must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Apply by Friday, January 15, 2015
  • Fall 2014/Spring 2015 GPA of 2.5
  • Successfully interview between Monday to Friday, February 2-6, 2015
  • You need prepare and present a 10 minute presentation on any topic benefitting incoming first-year students. Presentation topics can range from homesickness, managing stress, making friends, prioritizing, etc.  Topics must be approved by staff prior to interview.   • Attend LAUNCH from Saturday to Sunday, April 18-19, 2015
  • Commit to the entire Pathways program from Sunday to Wednesday, August 23-26, 2015
  • Complete a summer reading.

 

COMPENSATION

  • $150 stipend
  • Move-on campus on Sunday, August 23, 2015
  • All meals covered
