• Hiring Manager or the Office of Human Resources can make a verbal offer to the candidate.
  • The completed JCU Application and Background Release form will begin the investigation process.
  • The Office of Human Resources will prepare a draft offer letter for the manager’s review. A formal offer letter will be mailed (emailed) to the candidate under the signature of the Director of Human Resources that will state “This offer is contingent upon successful and satisfactory completion of our reference checking process, including a criminal background investigation.”
  • An Employee Status Form will need to be created to complete the process.
  • The person initiating the status form will forward, via email, on to their supervisor/chair/dean for approval.  Once the form reaches the VP level it will automatically move on to the Budget Director, Director of Human Resources, Recruitment Coordinator, and Payroll Department.
