Schedule of Events

Homecoming 2018 will take place October 4 – 7, 2018. Final details will be posted below in early August. The 2017 schedule of event is listed below to give you a sneak peak of what is in store for 2018.

Thursday, October 26

BlueStreak Blitz
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Atrium, D. J. Lombardo Student Center
Get pumped to “Streak Your Weekend” at the kickoff to the biggest weekend on campus!  Stop by to hear the pep band, get some FREE giveways, grab some food and event schedule so you are ready to be all in for Homecoming and Family Weekend!

G.O.L.D. (Graduates of the Last Decade) Homecoming Happy Hour
6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Collision Bend Brewing Company
All graduates of the last decade (G.O.L.D.), 2008 – 2017, come and enjoy and evening out with JCU friends and classmates. Free appetizers and cash bar available. Reservations requested.

Magician Ben Seidman 
p.m. Kulas Auditorium (Doors open at 8pm) 
Ben Seidman is the only person in history to be named the Resident Magician at Mandalay Bay, Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. After several thousand performances at numerous luxury casinos, Seidman has become known as a powerful young staple of the Las Vegas entertainment scene. His residency at Mandalay follows a three-season contract as creative consultant for Mindfreak on A&E, during which he designed the illusions performed by Criss Angel.  His performances are jam packed with stand-up comedy, fascinating true stories, and world- renowned sleight-of-hand. His energy and playfulness are contagious as they spread through the audience and he never fails to give a sensational performance. Fun for the whole family!

Food Truck After Party (current students only)
10 p.m. Rodman Drive outside Kulas Auditorium 
Swing by the after party outside Kulas for some more Homecoming fun!  Jam to some tunes and nosh on some food truck yummies from two local food truck favorites!

Friday, October 27

Parent Check-in
5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Student Center Atrium
Stop by the table to pick up a schedule as well as any pre-ordered tickets.

Circle K/Sigma Delta Kappa Social Gathering
7 p.m. – O’dea Room, D.J. Lombardo Student Center

Homecoming Dance  (current students only)
8 p.m. – midnight, Cleveland Museum of Natural History
Enjoy an evening of music, dancing, and hors d’oeuvres with your friends at the Science Center. VIP Party attendance is required from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the LSC in order to check in and load the buses!  Attendees need to attend the VIP party at the time written on their tickets!  Tickets on sale beginning Thurs, Oct 5 at this link. 

Irish Musical Showcase
8 p.m.  – 10 p.m. Jardine Room
Unwind in an intimate setting as you catch up with friends and listen to fiddler/vocalist, Nikki Custy ’97 and friends. Sounds from Ireland and a mix of other tunes will be featured.  Refreshments will be available along with a cash bar.

Saturday, October 28

Footprints for Fatima 5K Run / 1 Mile Walk
Registration begins at 8 a.m., 5K starts at 9 a.m., 1 Mile is at 9:15 a.m.
Make your “Footprint” on Homecoming Weekend! Run or walk in the Footprints for Fatima 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk to support JCU’s Fatima Food Drive. All proceeds will benefit families in Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood. All runners/walkers receive an official “Footprints” long-sleeved t-shirt. Awards are given to the top male and female JCU students, faculty and staff, and alumni. Refreshments and raffle prizes provided! For more information or to register visit: www.jcu.edu/footprints

Lolly the Trolley Cleveland Tour
10:00 a.m. 12 p.m. Trolley picks up outside of the Student Center at the intersection of Washington and Belvoir boulevards
More than 20 miles of facts and fun are covered in Trolley Tours’ well-known City Sightseeing Tour, one of the most reliable, pleasant, and convenient ways to see Cleveland. Registration Required, tickets are $20/person.

Homecoming Court Lunch & Family Brunch (the current Homecoming Court and their families)+

Queen Candidates:  Maaya Arbaji, Mylane Bella-Smuts, Anne Brennan, Jamie Longacre, and Yanu Sou
King Candidates:  Hayden Clarke, Justice Estrada, Omar Meza, Jonathan Ward, and Conner Witherow
Voting for Homecoming King and Queen will take place beginning on Oct 16.

JCU Blue Streaks Football Tailgate
11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. Tennis Courts, South Belvoir Street and Belvoir Parking Lot
All alumni, parents, families, students, Hall of Fame Inductees, and guests are welcome to join in the festivities Food Trucks will be available for purchase.  Music, performances by the JCU pep band and cheer and dance teams, a family zone, and student organization tables will also be featured. All guests are welcome in the tailgate area! Guests who are 21 and over are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages to enjoy only in the tailgate area. All tailgating will end by 1:30pm.

Rules for a safe Blue Streak Tailgate:
• Must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcoholic beverages and must be able to provide valid ID for proof of age if requested.
• Consumption is limited to the defined area (see map)
• No public intoxication.
• Alcohol is permitted so long as it is poured into a plastic cup. No kegs allowed.
• Tailgating and clean-up will end by 1:30 at which time the regular alcohol policy take effect on campus.

Varsity Football – JCU vs. Muskingum

Show your support for our JCU Blue Streaks as they take on Muskingum University! Get to your seat 15 minutes before kickoff for the Homecoming King and Queen announcement and stay for the best DIII football in the country.
Purchase your tickets in advanced.
Tickets will be sold on a walk-up basis beginning at 11 a.m. at the Stadium ticket kiosk:
$7 General Admission
$3 Sr. Citizen/youth or non-OAC student
FREE for children ages 4 and under
Free for all JCU students and staff with ID

Carroll Casino
4 p.m – 6 p.m.., D.J. Lombardo Student Center LSC Conference Room
Try your hand at Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, Craps, and Slot Machines at the Carroll Casino. No money is needed to play, but prizes are sure to be won!

JCU Mens Soccer Game vs. Muskingum

Cheer on the JCU varsity men’s soccer team as they take on the Muskingum Muskies

Got the late-night munchies?  Craving some snacks? Join your friends for the much-anticipated Homecoming Late Night Breakfast. Free food, entertainment, Bingo, and time to socialize…a perfect way to wrap up the night! You won’t want to miss out on all the excitement—or treats!

Sunday, October 29

Homecoming and Family Weekend Mass & Brunch
Alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to attend Mass in the DeCarlo Varsity Gym followed by brunch.

10 a.m. DeCarlo Varsity Center, Varsity Gym

Brunch – Registration Required
11 a.m. –  2 p.m. D.J. Lombardo Student Center, Schott Dining Hall
$13 per person.  Current students can use a meal swipe.

Alumni and Legacy Brunch –  Registration Required
In celebration of All Souls Day
11 a.m. –  2 p.m. D.J. Lombardo Student Center, Jardine Room
