Order of Omega

Order of Omega is a leadership honorary society whose purpose is to recognize those students who have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-Greek activities and to encourage them to continue with this and inspire others.

The official colors are ivory and gold and its emblem is the Greek letter designating Omega. Membership is confined to members of Greek-letter social organizations.

Order of Omega came to John Carroll in the fall semester of 2006. After a year of development support from the Greek community, the Upsilon Rho Chapter was founded. The chatering class was inducted in the fall 2007 semester, which consisted of 24 of the top Greek students on campus. Today, membership is at 44 undergraduate students and seven honorary members.

It is a great honor to be inducted into Order of Omega. Each member is carefully selected based on his/her character, scholarship, leadership, as well as service to the campus and Greek community. Some minimum requirements include:

  • Minimum of 45 credits received.
  • Rank academically above a 3.0.
  • Be in good standing with the initiate’s fraternal organization.
  • Applications are made available each semester.
