THERE ARE NO POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR 2017-2018
- Hours and Wages – 20 hours per week in exchange for tuition and fees (excluding graduation fee) for up to 9 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters (a total of 18 credit hours) and a stipend paid twice per month (September-May).
- Qualifications – Full-time, matriculated, degree-seeking graduate student. Leading candidates will demonstrate a sincere interest in working with outcomes assessment. The individual must have excellent data analysis abilities, with knowledge of EXCEL (required) and SPSS (preferred) programs. Highly-developed written and verbal skills and the ability to relate effectively with all members of the campus community are necessary. Experience with creating and maintaining web pages a plus.
- Review data from national surveys, including the College Student Survey (CSS), the CIRP Freshman Survey, Resident Satisfaction Survey, National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), Your First College Year (YFCY) Survey, the Multi-institutional Study of Leadership (MSL), and other survey data.
- Analyze data and prepare assessment reports as needed.
- Store all data related to national and local surveys in SPSS and EXCEL databases.
- Assist with content for What We Know About Our Students, published two to three times a year.
- Work closely with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure all assessment tools meet approved standards.
- Order surveys and supplies when necessary.
- Coordinate and schedule survey distribution and collection.
- Coordinate, attend, and participate in Student Affairs Assessment Team meetings.
- Assist with presentations for the University community as needed.
- Collaborate and communicate with other universities and the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) in comparing survey data.
- Assist the Assistant Vice President with programs and projects as requested.
- Represent the Assistant Vice President, the Division of Student Affairs, and John Carroll University upon request.
The position begins a week prior to the beginning of the fall semester and continues through the last day of finals in the spring semester. Summer employment is negotiable. Twenty hours of work is expected each week during the regular work-day of 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
