Why is faculty and staff giving important?
Your gift, of any amount, sends a positive message to prospective donors. It says that the John Carroll community is strong and vibrant and committed to the University. Faculty and staff gifts also influence grants from corporations and foundations, which consider employee-giving rates when determining their own support for John Carroll.
What is the goal for faculty and staff giving?
Our goal is to support the mission of the University and to increase participation in giving to John Carroll. Participation is truly our #1 goal. Every gift will make a difference.
Can I set up a recurring or sustaining gift?
Absolutely! In fact, most faculty and staff donors give this way. You can have your gift deducted directly from your paycheck by filling out a payroll deduction form. Or, you can set up a recurring gift on your credit card.
Can I give to a specific department or fund?
Yes. To designate your gift, list the name of the department or fund that you would like to support in the “other” line on your pledge form.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, your gift is fully tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. Payroll deduction gifts and pledges are deducted on an after-tax basis. You can claim the tax deduction when you file your taxes annually.
