Department of Exercise Science and Sports Leadership

The department is grounded in the belief of the dignity of each person. We emphasize the value and importance of physical activity in all people’s lives, and the development of professionals prepared to help everyone achieve maximum individual potential.

Our students have a wide range of opportunities to pursue careers in fitness and wellness, exercise science, allied health, or the sports industry.

Programs of Study

We offer two undergraduate majors which provide foundational knowledge in human movement and human behavior as preparation for graduate school and multiple career opportunities.

Exercise science focuses on the fitness, movement, motor, and sports skills of diverse populations.

Sports Leadership focuses on the administration, planning, and implementation of sports programs and sports-related areas such as marketing, management, and communications.

At the graduate level, we offer a master's degree in Sports Leadership, which focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to lead in the sports industry.
