Kevin Risner received his M.A. in English (with a focus in ESL) and teaching certification in May of 2012. He also spent two years teaching English in Istanbul, Turkey.

He currently teaches composition at John Carroll University; he also works as a mentor for students in the Soft Landings Program. At Cuyahoga Community College, Kevin instructs ESL students in basic grammar and also in reading and writing. At the Cleveland Institute of Art, he teaches another composition class to international first-year students.

In May, 2013, he presented a paper on Kenneth Burke and weather rhetoric at Ghent University in Belgium.
