Katie Horowitz is a lecturer in English and Women’s and Gender Studies.  She is currently working on her first book, a comparative ethnographic and archival study of drag king and queen performance cultures which interrogates the perennial rift between lesbians and gay men in queer theory and activism.  Her work has been published in Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society and has been presented at numerous conferences, including the National Women’s Studies Association, Performance Studies international, and the American Society for Theatre Research.
