John Carroll University’s Society of Physics Students (SPS) chapter has been named a distinguished chapter by the national SPS organization. The recognition places the JCU chapter among the top 20% of all SPS chapters.

The ranking is based on a chapter’s engagement in areas including campus activities, public science outreach, and participation in regional and national SPS events. Among other activities, the JCU SPS chapter placed first in a trebuchet-launching competition at Eastern Michigan University last spring. The chapter also organized a quiz day in which JCU students competed on teams representing their academic majors.

Visit the Department of Physics website for more information about the JCU SPS chapter and its activities.
