In the Roman Catholic tradition, there are many specific Catholic devotions, including some of the most well known: the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Angelus, Stations of the Cross, the Rosary, Liturgy of the Hours, Novenas, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Devotions have a long history in the Catholic church and have been described In the New Dictionary of Theology as “the feeling side of Christian faith.”

At John Carroll students lead devotional prayer at various times during the year. Stations of the Cross are prayed during the Fridays of Lent. Once or twice a month students gather for praise and worship music and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
