Prior to coming to John Carroll, Dr. Porter was an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida from 1992 to 1999.

His teaching interests include corporate finance and investments.
Research
Dr. Porter conducts research in the areas of agency theory, mutual fund performance, banking, and initial public offerings of common stock. He has published in the American Communities Banker, Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, Journal of Business, Financial Services Review, Managerial Finance, and The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.
