Bradley Hull, Ph.D., held prior faculty positions at Washington University and has taught at Case Western Reserve University and Kent State University. Prior to joining John Carroll he had an extensive career in the oil and chemicals industries with British Petroleum. During that time he managed several oil and chemical supply chains. He directed the logistics activity for BP Chemicals Company and managed much of the Alaskan Oil supply chain.
Dr. Hull teaches courses in supply chain management, transportation, operations management, management information systems, and enterprise software.
His research interests recently have focused on the logistics infrastructure of Northeast Ohio. His other research interests include supply driven supply chains, transportation management, supply/operations management, transportation in antiquity, and enterprise software. He has published articles in the International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of the Transportation Research Forum, Journal of Macromarketing, Journal of Information Systems Education, and Logistics Information Management.
In addition to teaching at John Carroll, Dr. Hull has worked with the Port of Cleveland developing new business opportunities for the port. He has given presentations regarding new business opportunities for the Port at the Cleveland Freight Association, Purchasing Management Association of Cleveland, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, and the Ohio Foreign Commerce Association.
During March 2009 he hosted a seminar on campus, “The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Marine Highway – Fitting the Pieces Together.” The seminar highlighted the strategic advantage of waterborne commerce for Northeast Ohio. Additional information can be found at http://www.jcu.edu/boler/port.aspx.
During the December month of the years 2009 – 2014, he hosted a holiday networking event for John Carroll grads who are currently in the logistics industry.
During January, Dr. Hull completed a project for the Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium (NEOTEC) titled, “Northeast Ohio Logistics Infrastructure Study” which describes the current status of the logistics infrastructure, discusses its strengths and weaknesses, and suggests projects which might utilize the infrastructure to attract businesses to the area and thus create jobs. Additionally, Dr. Hull is a member of several organizations. These include Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (currently Cleveland Roundtable President), Institute of Supply Management (publishes a monthly business survey of Northeast Ohio for the Cleveland Chapter), Ohio Foreign Commerce Association, Northeast Ohio International Business Network, Cleveland Freight Association, Transportation Research Forum, Canadian Transportation Research Forum, and Decision Sciences Institute.
