The Boler School of Business has increased its faculty count by five this semester. The school welcomed one full-time assistant professor and four visiting assistant professors in the areas of human resources, finance, economics, management strategy, and entrepreneurship.

Alison Dachner joined the school as a full-time assistant professor of human resources in the Department of Management, Marketing, and Logistics. She received her Ph.D. in labor and human resources from The Ohio State University. Dachner also has an M.B.A. with a concentration in labor relations and human resources from Cleveland State University, as well as a B.S. in human resources from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining the Boler School, Dachner was an instructor in the Department of Management and Human Resources in the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.

The Department of Economics and Finance welcomed two visiting assistant professors: Sokchea Lim, visiting assistant professor in economics, and Haiwei Chen, visiting assistant professor in finance. Lim was awarded his Ph.D. in economics from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He also received an M.A. in International Development from the International University of Japan and a B.S. in economics from the Royal University of Law and Economics in Cambodia. Prior to joining the Boler School of Business, Lim was an instructor in the Department of Economics at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Haiwei Chen was awarded a Ph.D. in economics from Emory University. He also received an M.B.A. with a concentration in management from the University of West Georgia, as well as a B.A. in world economy from Jilin University in the People’s Republic of China. Prior to joining the Boler School of Business, Chen was an assistant professor of finance at the University of Texas–Pan American.

The Department of Marketing, Management, and Logistics welcomed two visiting assistant visiting professors: Thomas Bonda, visiting assistant professor in entrepreneurship and marketing, and Jaume Franquesa, visiting assistant professor in management. Bonda received a J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. He also has a B.S. in business from Arizona State University. Currently, Bonda serves as vice president of business development for OuterBox Solutions, Inc.

Jaume Franquesa was awarded a Ph.D. in strategic management from Purdue University. He also has a B.S./M.S. in economics and business administration from the Universitat Autònoma in Barcelona, Spain. Prior to joining the Boler School of Business, Francquesa was Academic M.B.A. director for Kent State University.
