Outstanding Biology Graduate Student Award - This award is given to a graduate student who has shown outstanding research and all-around academic performance during the conduction of his/her thesis.
Excellence in Graduate Studies Award - This award is given to a graduate student who has shown dedication to their graduate studies, particularly in the area of the graduate assistantship work in the classroom.
Fenton D. Moore Award for Outstanding Biology Graduate – This award is given to an undergraduate student who has shown outstanding academic performance as reflected in grades, research activity, service, and demonstrated enthusiasm for the discipline. Dr. Fenton Moore was a faculty member in the Biology Department from 1972 until his retirement in 2004 and served as department chair and as director of the Health Professions Advisory Committee. He was well-known for his concern for students and for the rigor of his teaching.
Outstanding Biology Scholar – This award is given to students who have shown outstanding research activity. Special consideration is given to undergraduate students who have published, or may be listed on publications soon.
Biology Leadership Award – This award is given to a student majoring in any area of biology who has shown outstanding leadership through service to others. This can include service in student government, student organizations, or off-campus service activities.
Excellence in Biology Award – This award is given to students showing excellence in biology by achieving a GPA of at least 3.85 in their biology courses.
