Julie Ziemba has been awarded a two-year, $6000 grant from the Geauga Park District. The grant is entitled “Investigation of an invasive Asian earthworm (Amynthas) in northeastern Ohio and its impacts on the body condition and behavior of an important forest floor amphibian (Plethodon cinereus)”. Invasive earthworms have become problematic in northeastern deciduous forests, but little is known about their biology and ecology, particularly regarding invasive Asian earthworms. Julie’s work will form the basis for her Master’s degree work at John Carroll. Congratulations Julie!
