Arrupe Scholars Program

Learning Goals

The Arrupe Scholars Program challenges students to develop leadership skills for social action while growing in four main areas:

  • INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT
    Students will analyze the complex relationship among the social, political, and economic policies, practices, and consequences of social action.
  • ACTIVE REFLECTION
    Students will integrate active reflection of their experiences into their lives particularly when critically evaluating social justice issues and situations.
  • COMMITMENT TO SOLIDARITY
    Students will demonstrate a commitment to social action grounded in sustained engagement with people facing injustice.
  • ADVOCACY
    Students will develop knowledge and skills to be a voice of support for those facing injustice.
