Exit Counseling
Shortly after graduation or departure from school, students will have the personal responsibility of repaying college loans. Students who are graduating, transferring, or withdrawing from John Carroll are required to complete an online Exit Counseling session. This Federal requirement will only take about 10 minutes of your time.

Loan Repayment and Consolidation
Shortly after graduation you will receive information regarding repayment of your loans from the lender or company servicing your loans. There are several repayment plans you can choose from to fit your financial situation. Please note that if at any point during repayment you cannot afford your monthly payments, contact your lender to discuss your financial situation. Loan forbearance is available for students who cannot afford to repay their loan due to financial hardships. For more information about loan repayment plans or consolidating your Stafford Loans, please visit www.federalstudentaid.ed.gov.

Review Your Loan Debt
The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is a great resource for students to utilize to review their Federal Loan borrowing history. You will need you social security number, date of birth, and Federal PIN to access your loan history. If you do not know your PIN, you may obtain it at www.pin.ed.gov. Please note that this database will not show any Private Loans borrowed.

Federal Student Aid Loan Servicers
The following is a list of Federal Student Aid servicers for the Direct Loan Program and for FFEL Program Loans purchased by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are not sure who your loan servicer is, you can look up your information on the National Student Loan Data System at www.nslds.ed.gov.
