At John Carroll, we understand that cost is an important factor in the college process. Our philosophy about financial aid is unique; we combine resources to recognize academic talent and also use school funds and student employment to help as many students as we can. Below is a list of opportunities available for you as an international transfer student.

 John Carroll University Scholarship

Renewable scholarships of $10,000-$20,000 per year are offered to applicants based on their academic performance, strength of college-level coursework and participation in extracurricular activities. No application required.

Need-based Financial Aid

We are currently reviewing and evaluating our entire financial aid strategy to determine if we are able to offer any additional funding that can supplement beyond the merit based scholarship (John Carroll University Scholarship). Updates will be posted here.

SAGE Tuition Rewards Program

John Carroll University is a member school participating in the SAGE Tuition Rewards Program. SAGE Tuition Rewards are discounts off tuition! Tuition Reward Points are earned and redeemed as guaranteed minimum scholarships at over 300 participating private colleges and universities across America (1 Point = $1.00). To find out more about this unique college savings program, visit the SAGE Scholars website.

Borrowing Options

International students may apply for private educational loans through a variety of lenders to help finance their educational expenses at JCU. These lenders include Charter One, Citibank, Sallie Mae, and Wells Fargo. All lenders require borrowers to have a credit-worthy cosigner who is a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. You can find more information and review a list of lenders online at http://sites.jcu.edu/aid/pages/types-of-aid/loans-2/private-loans/.

Part-time Work on Campus

International students may work on campus through the campus work study program. Students typically earn over $8.00 per hour and may not work more than 20 hours per week. To view available part-time work-study jobs at John Carroll and for more information, visit our student employment website.
